West Side Story is a forthcoming American heartfelt melodic dramatization movie coordinated and co-delivered by Steven Spielberg, with a screenplay by Tony Kushner and movement by Justin Peck. The movie is a transformation of the 1957 Broadway melodic of a similar name by Arthur Laurents, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim, which depends freely on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The movie’s screenplay is required to cut more near the Broadway script than to the 1961 movie variation coordinated by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins. It stars Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler, with Ariana DeBose, David Alvarez, Mike Faist, Josh Andrés Rivera, Ana Isabelle, Corey Stoll and Brian d’Arcy James, just as Rita Moreno, a star of the 1961 film, showing up in a supporting job.

The film began improvement in 2014 by twentieth Century Fox, and Kushner was composing the screenplay by 2017. In January 2018 Spielberg was employed, and projecting started by September 2018. Recording started in July 2019 and wrapped up two months after the fact. Shooting happened in New York and New Jersey.
West Side Story is booked to be delivered by twentieth Century Studios in the United States on December 10, 2021, subsequent to being postponed every year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
